Custom São Miguel tour: three to seven hours your way
This is the option for anyone who has a list. You are collected at your hotel, the airport or the cruise port, and the experienced guide drives to the places you name anywhere on the island. Allow between 3.5 and 7 hours, depending on how many lakes, viewpoints and villages you want. Park fees and lunch are paid on top.
It suits couples who want a long morning at Sete Cidades, families who need to stop often and cruise passengers with a fixed number of hours ashore. It starts at €65 per person.
Private caves tour on Terceira with a geologist
From Angra do Heroísmo, a geologist guides you for five hours through the volcanic side of Terceira, with hotel pickup and drop-off. The guide is a geologist, so the lava tubes come with an explanation. Cave tickets are not in the €80 per person price. The best-known cave, Algar do Carvão, is announced to close from 1 November 2026.
Ponta Delgada by electric tuk tuk
The two hour city tour starts at Rua dos Mercadores 69 and rolls through the old town with a guide, stopping at landmarks. It is private for up to four people at €70 each, so a full tuk tuk pays €280. Choose it for the first afternoon after landing, when you want an orientation before exploring on your own.
Airport transfer: €31 for up to three
Your driver waits at São Miguel airport with a sign showing your name. The private transfer to Ponta Delgada costs €31 per group of up to three: €31 alone, €15.50 each for two and €10.33 each for three. Since the airport is under 3 km from the centre, this is mostly about arriving without queuing for a taxi.
Private or small group?
