Miguel Teixeira de Andrade nasceu na ilha de S. Miguel. Emigrou ainda cedo para o Canadá onde cresceu e viveu até concluir os estudos. Regressou para leccionar Inglês e por cá ficou, admirando a ilha, escrevendo sobre ela e sobre o mundo. A poesia e a filosofia são-lhe queridas, por isso encontrou, no silêncio da ilha, a possibilidade de fazer da escrita uma arte de vida.
Miguel Teixeira de Andrade was born on the island of S. Miguel. He emigrated early to Canada where he grew up and lived until he finished his studies. He returned to teach English and stayed here, admiring the island, writing about it and about the world. Poetry and a Philosophy are the expressions he most loves, so he found, in the silence of the island, a possibility of writing art.
