Catarina Vieira Pereira nasceu em S.Miguel. Utiliza como nome artístico Vieira Pereira. Possui o mestrado de Artes Plásticas, na Escola Superior de Artes e Design de Caldas da Rainha (2011-2013). Tema da defesa pública: “Pintura Fotográfica – efemeridade, metamorfose e acção num percurso plástico”. Na sua pesquisa questiona os limites da pintura, colocando a questão se o seu trabalho poderá estar no “campo expandido” da pintura, tal como a crítica de arte Rosalind Krauss propôs para a escultura.
Catarina Vieira Pereira was born in S. Miguel, Azores. She uses as an artistic name Vieira Pereira. She has a master degree in Fine Arts at the School of Arts and Design of Caldas da Rainha(2011-2013). The subject of her master’s thesis is: “Photography Painting: ephemerality, metamorphosis and action in academic route”. In her artistic research she questions the limits of painting, if it could be in the “expanded field”, like Rosalind Krauss proposed to the sculpture.
