A Escola Regional de Artesanato foi fundada em 1986, por iniciativa das gémeas Conceição e Alzira Neves. A Escola tem como finalidade recolher, divulgar e preservar a cultura do nosso povo, rica no seu património e Museu Etnográfico. A exposição e loja aberta ao público inclui trabalho artesanal realizado na ilha do Pico: bordados a richelieu, matiz e ro-có-có; rendas típicas; flores em escama de peixe, papiro, miolo de figueira, hortênsia e pergaminho; bonecas em palha de trigo e muito mais...
The Regional Arts & Crafts School was founded in 1986 by the twins Conceição and Alzira Neves. Its purpose is to gather, preserve and share the culture of our people and our rich heritage. The permanent exhibit and shop open to public includes arts and crafts made in Pico: embroidery; lacework; flowers made with fish scales, papyrus, fig tree and hydrangea pith; dolls made from straw and corn husks; rugs and straw hats as well as traditional costumes.
